When, for whatever reason, they decided to regulate hemp and marijuana, they classed them both as the same plant - cannabis.
One is psychoactive, the other isn't, yet to the regulators they were both classed as the same. Somebody really had it in for hemp 100 years ago, I wonder why?
To avoid confusion, Marijuana is Cannabis with THC levels above 0.3%. Hemp, on the other hand is Cannabis with THC levels below 0.3%
